World Bird Wednesday

These are pictures of Blue Wing Teals (plus a Mallard pair in the first picture)
that I took earlier this summer.  The pictures are not the greatest because they were taken from the car, but they will serve my purpose.

This Great White Egret is searching for food in the same place where the Blue Wing Teals were swimming just two months ago.  The drought is taking a tole on our wildlife and there are sad stories playing out all around us.  There is nothing we can do to help ... at least I don't think there is.  If anyone has any suggestions, I am all ears ...

The teals are gorgeous! I like the egret, too, because they're so similar to herons. We don't have egrets.

It's hard to believe it's the same place. I do hope the drought will pass soon. The Blue Wing Teals are amazing. I have never seen them before, but they are not a European breed, I think. Mallards are pretty common, but always nice to see! :)

It's so sad to see things so dry & wasted.
I worry about all the critters.
