NF DAM Digital Art Meme

A little change of pace for me today.   This is my garden in my mind's eye ... just for fun :)
My Calla Lilly and the cast of characters are from the public domain ...

NatureFootstep Abstract

I feel that the interpretation of an abstract is a personal choice and is often the function of the mood or experience of the beholder.  Thus I offer you a choice of strong versus

 gentle depending on your mood.
I feel that, in this New Year, we will need both strength and gentleness ... My wish is that each comes to you as needed and serves you well in fulfilling your hopes.
  Happy New Year!

Photo Art Friday

Pixel Dust Photo Art
As always a fun prompt.  I keep wondering when I will run out of ideas ... but, I am not going to worry about it until it happens.  I do have enough pictures to play with for many years :)  Thanks Bonnie, I learned some new techniques by following your sample in the
Photo Art Resource Cache.  Everyone who can, should join ... it is well worth it!

Pdpa Dropped Petals, Butterfly on plant (filter, color pencil), Pdpa Leafy Landscape, Mask/brush, filter-photo.

Pdpa Dropped Petals, Owl picture (filter, pencil drawing, select, Image extract, Pdpa Old Weave texture, pint eyes and beak), Public domain    picture Great Horned Owls in branch, select, image extract, mask/brush.

Pdpa Dropped Petals, Maroon Bells Mountains, soft light blend, mask/brush; Cowboy, select, extract, mask/brush;  aspen, select, extract, mask/brush;  Text with soft shadow.

This one fails the "abstract" test.  Don't know what it is doing in here, but hey ... I used the Pdpa Dropped Petals, that should count for something, right?

Pdpa Dropped Petals, winter scene, soft light blend, mask brush, clone stamp;  Izzi with Frisbee , sloft light blend, sask/brush; snow overlay, mask/brush;  Text with soft shadow; Filter smudge stick

We are experiencing "Winter Wonderland" now as another expected 6 inches of snow is falling ... on top of whatever we already had.  If it looks like Izzi is loving the snow ... she is.   Actually, I do too, so we have a great time outside until we get cold ... then it is time for hot chocolate:)
Happy Winter ... (spring is not too far off:)

Mandarin Orange Monday

The gorgeous wings of the Monarch Butterfly was my starting point this week.  As art goes, this is already magnificent ... I can't improve on Mother Nature, but I can dabble with her idea's.   I made use of the Clone stamp to expand the picture in different places.  Then I added  pdpa Just Peachy Texture at 50%.  What I did next, I didn't even know I could do ... I used the clone stamp to pull the wing up through the texture layer.  That was as much as I wanted to do ... for me this was a finished product except to play with framing.  I have a preference in the framing ... do you?

In contrast with nature my next picture is a book on a man made wall shelf.  Very different in effect.  I tweaked the photo with PSE then used the Poster Edge Filter.  I started to frame it with the orange background and found I liked it best with just an orange edging.  So that is what I did.

The last picture I ran across while looking for something for Photo Art Friday.  I actually used this tree on that meme, but I had applied it to this picture with the swans flying.  It, once again, is a different approach to Mandarin Orange Art though because I did it so long ago, I am unsure of what I used to get the effects.
That's all Folks, as the saying goes ...
