Friday FaceOff ...

Friday FaceOff

Turkey was everyone's favorite.  He was fun, playful and easy to work with.  They are social amung themselves and when there are no other Turkey Vultures to socialize with ... they socialize with their handlers.

As and education bird he wowed everyone, especially the kids ...

His favorite game ... Tug of War :)

Never a dull moment :)

Eye Candy

The sad part of this story is that my daughter is bedridden and lives in a nursing home.  Sooooo ...her roommate and I print or draw pictures for her wall to help cheer her up.  One of our catagories is called "Eye Candy" ... I know I don't need to explain what that means.  And yes, I do my share of drooling as well.  You are never too old to appreciate a good looking man😁

So this is Mark Lattieri a guitar player and a composer.  If you want to know more you will find him on You-Tube.  My FH and I enjoy all kinds of music and we  find all kinds of music on You Tube.  We have found several bands that we enjoy and Mark has his own group as well as plays in several other groups.

Sorry Girls ... I won't post Eye Candy every week, so enjoy while you can 🀣

Sunday in the Art Room ...

Sunday in the Art Room

White Pelicans visited our lake every Spring(much to the chagrin of the local fisherman) on their way to places further north.  They stayed for several weeks then one day they would all fly off headed straight North.  So was the timeing of their departure their own understanding of weather and when the lakes in the north would thaw or did it have to do with the amount of food (fish) available in our lake.  I don't know the answer to that, but I do know that they were amazing guests and those of us with cameras looked forward to their arrival every year :)

A little artsy fun ...

So another week has past and it is hard to tell from day to day if it is winter or if we are moving toward Sping.  Our temperatures have ranged from the low 30's to the mid 60's.  I assume (and am hoping) that the temperatures will keep moving toward the 60's and then stay there with only upward movement from that point on.  Spring can't be that far off, right?.  I keep telling myself I am looking forward to Spring, but then I remember how much work goes into cleaning up after winter and preparing and planting our gardens.  Oh my ... but at least we won't have to wear our coats and we will have bright colored flowers and the presences of busy bees and the sweet songs of birds.  Oh yes, I am for sure looking forward to Spring :) Hope you are all doing well ...

Sunday in the Art Room ...

Sunday in the Art Room

I like to make cartoons for cards and whatever.  This is me and my friend, Kathy.  We are, what you would call, tree huggers.  We have been going to the Morton Arboretum on a regular basis for years ... but now my friend is sick and when I text her she doesn't answer.  I worry about her and I don't want to go to the Arboretum without her.   I have thought about just going over to her house, but since I don't really know what she is sick with or if she is in any condition to deal with a visitor, I have just been waiting for her to contact me.  It makes me sad ... I miss her.  So I made her a card (bottom) and I hope it will cheer her up.  I also hope she will let me know when I can come see her.  Just sitting and waiting😒

Friday FaceOff

This is a painting of our rescue cat Buffy (the Dragon(mouse) Slayer)  She really is a happy, loving cat, but tends to have a frown on her face most of the time (Go figure!)  Anyway, she is another Orange Tabby.  We have two female Orange Tabby's which my Vet tells me is very unusual, because the females of that color are rather rare.  We have also had a male (Chachi) which some of you might remember.  I am guessing he and his brother (Fonzi) will show up on FFO sooner or later.
So, we are having a Spring like week ... Temperature in the 60's and bright sunshine.  I am loving it, but I am guessing we will get hit hard with something less desirable in short order.  Hope all is well with you ...
