Just for fun ...

This is the front and back pages of my newest book.  I do a book almost every year for family and friends.  

This is the centerfold of my book ... all just for fun and it helps me keep in touch with those I care about :)

We have to wear coats at this point ... not heavy winter coats yet, but coats just the same.  The air is crisp (which I love because it feels so fresh) and the sun is almost always out.  And the best part of fall ... the trees are starting to turn all of their bright, wonderful colors.  I hope you all are enjoying fall as much as I do ...

 This is a music group that my FH and I watch almost every evening on You Tube.  They are mostly a cover band, but do some songs that are original to them.  Their music is heavy on the bass which I love.  I know ... to each his own.  I am not saying you should watch them or that you will even enjoy them if you do watch them, but just sharing my own joy :)

So, even if you don't like mice ... isn't this a sweet face?  He was a pet of my Granddaughter many years ago ... I repeat MANY years ago.  My Granddaughter is an animal lover, works in the field of animal care and has had every kind of pet imaginable in her short life time.  It must run in our blood because, as kids, my sister and I had pet white rats (taken from a lab at the University).  They sat on our shoulder as we did whatever young teenage girls do.  I remember them fondly, needless to say.  My sister took her animal loving to having a horse when she was older.  I have only reached the level of having a dog ... a very special dog for those of you who might remember Izzi.  But, at the moment we have two cats, Diva and Buffy.  Buffy is a hunter of mice which brings us all the way back to, isn't that a sweet face on this mouse ?

So, this is my Barn Owl ... I had to completely redo it 😝 and I have it in my mind that the first version was better, but so be it ...

So yes, it is October already and the, BRRRRR,

cold weather is just around the corner.  I am honestly not looking forward to it.  But, that said, I love the snow 😍  Have an enjoyable Sunday ... the day of rest, so they say 😁

This is an old piece I did a few years ago.  I ran across it in my files and thought I would share it with you.  

We are in full fledged Fall  ... the weather is beautiful and the trees are turning.  My favorite time of the year.  I wish it could be like this all year around😂 

Meanwhile, I just spent hours doing a painting in PhotoShop and when I hit "save as" the page went white and my picture disappeared.  I am really bummed ... open to any suggestions on a  way to recover my painting 😢

I am a tree hugger.  My friend and I escape life by going to the Arboretum where the air is fresh and all is calm and beautiful.  It is the best thing for your mental health as well as just pure relaxation and enjoyment.  I have hundreds of tree pictures, each one beautiful and special.  You will see more of them over time :)

Some pictures of some old friends ...

He looks like a grumpy old man, but he was molting and yes, that made him grumpy :)

He was visiting my house on the lake while his mew was being remodeled .... what a treat that was :)And yes, he only had one eye which is why we couldn't release him.

 Those were some of the best year of my life so I hope you don't mind if I keep referring back to them.

Fall is on us .... the weather is beautiful, but still no fall colors.  I wait with bated breath :)

Friday Face Off

This is the Mr. of the Mr. and Mrs. Kestrel we had at the Raptor Center.  They are beautiful, active birds, but also mischevious and fun ... and very hard to catch up.  They loved the walks we would take them on through the wooded areas and bated (tried to fly off the glove) anytime they saw something that looked "delicious" :)  When the Raptor Center was closed (lack of funding, of course) some of the birds ended up staying in our homes until a new Center could be established.  This young man was my guest for awhile and believe me, when I took him for walks we were the most popular pair in the neighborhood.  As much time as we spent with them, they never stopped being wild.  Though they tolerated our presence, they longed to be free.  None of our birds could be released because they either had injuries that would prevent them from surviving or they were imprinted on humans and could be  a danger to humans or to themselves.
