Wild Bird Wednesday
The Red Bellied Woodpecker frequents my suet feeders ...
On this morning, he decided to sun himself for a while ...
While little Mr. Downy waited his turn ...
And waited ...
still waiting ...
And waiting ...
But the Red Bellied was not budging ... he was enjoying his morning sun ...
So finally, with one last look, he flew away ...
The good news is ... he did come back and get his share of the suet :)
Happy WBW Everyone!

Wild Bird Wednesday
Brave Little Souls ...
It has reached - 18 two nights in a row and has stayed in the minuses for two days. These little birds have worked very hard to survive doing everything they know how to do to keep warm. They are my little heroes because I can only stay out a few minutes before I know it is dangerously cold and they just endure.
Black Capped Chickadee
House Sparrow
European Starling
White Breasted Nut Hatch
The Crows
Female Cardinal
Red Belly Woodpecker
Gold Finch
Male Cardinal and, once again, that ominous little critter in the background
Male House Sparrow
Junco
Mourning Dove
Today the temperature is to get above zero, albeit only 5 degrees it will still feel warm. I pray that all of Natures Creatures are able to survive such an onslaught. I am putting my feed out at night so it will be there as soon as they get up in the morning ... I hope that helps them. This morning I have seen the Coopers Hawk and the Red Tail out hunting ... I have ambivalent feelings about them being around my feeders, but they too need to survive. This is hard!
Stay Warm Folks ... Happy (BRRRRR) WBW!
