Wild Bird Wednesday ...

 The Gold Finch breed in July around the time that the Sun Flowers start turning to seed.  Sun Flower seed is their staple ... isn't it amazing how nature is arranged to benefits all of it's creatures.   I took these pictures from  my back window ... my garden is planted (both by me, the birds and squirrels) to attract and feed the bird species in our area.  This is the payoff for them and for me :)

Sorry I am late with this post.  It is one of those weeks of appointments and coffee dates, compounded by the fact that I can't draw myself away from the Olympics.  Fun and busy, my kind of life ...

This little critter was all but lost in the massive sunflower were it not for the iridescent green on his back and the reflective colors of his wings.   But, full of pollen ... doing his job.  Thank heaven for our bees!
