NF Trees and Bushes

 Nature's Water color ...
This is a trick of sorts.  I flipped the original so that the reflection in the water looks like the intended picture.  It does look like a beautiful water color painting to me ... what do you think?  Could a reflection like this have  been the inspiration for impressionistic painting?   :)

Weekend Reflection

I was cleaning one of my FH's old oil pump globes and realized I was inadvertently looking out my window ... that was fun :)

Weekend Reflection

After the tragedy in France, we all need to reflect on the importance of freedom of expression and the need to protect it.  Extremists would like to rule our lives through fear ... stand up to them.  They are cowards who strike behind masks and then hide.  We are better than that ... Je Suis Charlie!

Our past is reflected in many ways ... here a picture grouping of family pictures reflects the lovely glass panel in the front door of my friends house ...

Wekend Reflection

I had to go into my archives for this one.  It has been a busy week and I didn't have time to come up with a newy.  Early morning on the lake.  It is a scene that I see often and yet, can never get enough of it.  Have a great weekend everyone ...

Weekend Reflections

I was attempting to take a picture of the mirrors on the wall.   Because I had my zoom lens on my camera in a small room, I couldn't get far enough away to get a clear shot.

But, apparently the depth of the reflection in the mirror was enough to allow the reflection to be in focus ... not at all what I would have expected.   Have a fun weekend everyone ...

Weekend Reflection

My friend (and neighbor) took me out to lunch for my birthday.  We, of course, went to one of our favorite coffee shops because they have marvelous soup and sandwich combinations.  I couldn't help noticing, as we sat there, a young lady getting off of her bicycle and facing the window to block the wind so she could light a cigarette (a very interesting, hand rolled cigarette I might add ... hmmmm).  In her glasses was the reflection of her bike and her friend with a baby on his back.  I couldn't resist this shot :)  Thank you to my friend for a lovely lunch and, as always, a fun and interesting time.

Photo Art Friday

Photo Art Friday

This was a good prompt for me.  I have been doing abstracts with my photo's for years, so I just headed back into my files and pulled up a few.
Unfortunately, I did these so long ago that I can't be sure what I used to accomplish my effects.  I can tell you that it was in Photoshop Elements.

At this point, I decided it would be more fun to make some current abstracts and it would maybe show how my technique has grown (or at least changed).

This started with a photo of a deer in the woods.  I tweaked the pictures with levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation. I then covered it with pdpa Dusty Rose Bokeh at 60%.  I erased out the deer and recovered it with pdpa Dusty Rose Bokeh at 40% and added a border.

I started this with a photo of an unusual cloud formation, tweaking it with levels, brightness/contrast and hue/saturation. I placed the picture of the Sand hill Crane's in flight over the clouds at 68% and blended it in using the eraser and clone stamp.  Added pdpa Vintage Craquelure texture at around 66% then used levels to accentuate it.

This was fun, as always.  I am looking forward to everyone's version of abstractions in nature ...
