Scribble Picnic

A Few of my Favorite Things :)

For those of you who have tried, but cannot leave a comment, I am so sorry.  Blogger has changed things while I was gone and not being tech savvy, I have no idea how to adjust my comments so they will be accepted.  I am trying to resolve this, but since I don't speak "computer", I don't understand what they are telling me when I do find answers.  I am one sad puppy ... and open to suggestion if anyone knows what to do.

Scribble Picnic

Double
I have four cats (yes, that qualifies me for being a "crazy cat lady" ) so this scene is not an unusual one for me.  Curtains and windows are among their favorite fare.  Double cats, double fun times two makes quadruple fun :)

Scribble Picnic

Bottle
I find myself using water colors now, maybe because I don't need as much space to work with them.  Until I get a work table in my office, I have limited places to work that has adequate light and room for my "spread" as I work.

Chicken

I have been trying to get back to this for months, but there is just too much to do after a move and I don't really have an "art" space to work in yet.  But, I stopped over to see what was happening, picked up on the latest prompt ... and I just couldn't resist.  I painted the chicken with water color and then went to pic monkey to frame it and, once again couldn't resist playing with it a little ... basically changed the background.  Feels good to be back ... can't promise I will make it every week, but I look forward to seeing what all of you have been up to ... lot of changes, I am sure.  Feels good though, being amongst friends again ...

Wild Bird Wednesday

Horned Grebe

I have only seen this bird on our lake once  before in 17 years ... I guess I was lucky to spot them.  They are migrating through and will be gone by the next clear day.  They nest on northern lakes and marshes and winter on coastal bays and lakes.

Storms
Ever since I was a child, I have loved sitting on the porch, during a good thunder storm, breathing in the fresh clean air and watching the amazing antics of nature ...  it is so refreshing and I will continue to do it whenever I can...

Strawberries
Once again, I cheated ... this is a very busy time for me and I had thought I would probably miss this weeks prompt from Micheal ... but, Strawberries?  I am so looking forward to my Mother's Day Strawberries so I just couldn't pass up this opportunity to share.  This is strictly a digital rendering with framing in Picmonkey.  Wishing all of the Mothers out there a Happy Mother's Day ... you deserve more than a day, but we'll take what we can get, right?

Picket Fence
This is our little rescue, Buffy Boo ... she is a lovable cat with us but we have never been able to achieve a truce between her and our other cats.  She was dumped so young that I am quite certain her mother didn't have a chance to teach her kitty manners.  She loves going outside, but checks in regularly.  I think she is afraid of being dumped again.  As for keeping her in with a picket fence ... will never happen :)

I cheated a little with this one.  I took a picture of a house with a picket fence, digitized it, drew the kitty on another page and added her in.  It was a fun experiment.

Quilts
Quilts can be many things to many people.  There is the quilt that Grandma made that holds memories of a wonderful person in your life.  There are Friendship Quilts and Baby Quilts where a group of women each make a square then turn them over to a brave sole who will sew them into a
wonderful blanket for the friend or for the new mother.  Then there is just the fact that quilting is an art so they are a pallet of colors and ideas generated by an artist ...

The following are a few of the quilts that were on display at the Chicago Botanical Gardens ... feast your eyes.  I can't even imagine the hours that were spent creating these wonderful quilts.
