Bonnie's PAF prompt this week is light and shadows. My raptor pictures came to mind immediately. The others I came across while doing other things. They were all fun ... as always.
This is a Red Shouldered Hawk flying to the perch in the flight cage where she was strengthening her muscles so that she could be safely released. The sun was coming in from the west and it was so bright that what I got was like a silhouette. I changed the coloring and added a pdpa texture that rather muffled the lighting effect of the background, but allows the hawk to stand out.
This is my beloved Vulture friend who used to sun himself in one of the classrooms at the Nature Center. One knows that I could not pass up a photo op like this. This is one of my favorite photos of Jr. and I have many (that I will share some day in the future). I blacked out the background and then used PS poster edges filter to accentuate his coloring. Vultures get a bad rap by the public for they are truly beautiful and useful birds.
Here I used a pdpa texture to give it a little more drama.
These are actually lights shining on the sidewalk next to an outdoor ice skating rink. I snatched the picture as we were leaving the restaurant next door, never imagining how I would use them. Of course I have played with them until I found something I liked (sorry don't remember what I did).
Then I added a Pdpa texture to give a different effect ... just for fun :)
This is probably my favorite ... I love this cat. She is the exemplar model ... her lines are exquisite and she has so much drama in even the simplest pose. Here she is sitting on my kitchen counter eying a treat. The sun from the skylight is shining on her casting the shadow.
Of course, I had to play with it. I added a Pdpa texture and a public domain window plus some dabbling in PS.
I wasn't expecting this to be my last PAF for a while, but I enjoyed it as much as if I had known. Be well, Bonnie and enjoy your well deserved break. We will be looking for you in June ... or whenever you know you are ready to come back.
