Geometric Friday

This is not only a geometric fish, it is a plagiarized fish.  This was my "Bing" wallpaper this morning and I couldn't believe my eyes.  My high school geometry teacher would love this ...

Well to make it legal, I had to dabble ...

So, there you have it.  Proof that nature knew geometry before we did ... you have to love it :)

Have a Spooky Halloween Everyone  ....

Photo Story Friday

PhotoStory Friday

It's October 31st

I was thinking orange for fall and Halloween, but everything seems to be white.

This day is not turning out the way I planned.  I am supposed to be getting ready for trick or treaters and yet I am spending my morning sitting in the waiting room of a doctors office ...
And I can't shake this creepy feeling that I am being watched.  It must be my old poop ghoul day nerves.
Well, anyway have a safe Halloween Holiday ... lots of sweets :)

Weekend Reflection

I know it's Halloween and I should have an awesome reflection of a pumpkin or a ghoul, but it snowed here last night so I am thinking this is my last fall fling for awhile ... Enjoy and ...

Happy Halloween Everyone ... Have Fun, Be Safe!

Good Fences

This fence separates a pristine, manicured yard from an open, natural prairie ... same fence in both pictures.

I say, nature wins :)

Nature Footstep Abstract

Temperature Change

This abstract took me awhile.  Believe it or not, I started out with a picture of a screen:

I worked and worked with it, but couldn't get what I wanted so I added a color swatch picture that I had taken from the Internet a long time ago ... and finally with a few more tweaks and filters I landed here.  I call it temperature change because the cooler colors seem to be swallowing up the warm colors ... much like our weather is in the fall.  Hope you enjoy ... Have a great week!

Our World Tuesday

Once again we are in Rosenlaui, Switzerland, but this time we are going to follow the sign pointing to Rosenlaui Falls.

We are hiking up a mountain side along side the beautiful stream that becomes increasingly more steep as we go.

There is always time to stop and get a picture of good friends ...

The higher we get, the more dramatic the falls become ...

And suddenly we found ourselves in a tunnel ... (some of you might recognize this picture).

And, as we exit the tunnel we are in a steep sided canyon that has been carved out by the stream we are following.  If you look closely on the right side about half way up, you can see a fence along the path we will be following ...
This is looking back ...

Looking forward ...

And here I am looking straight up at the little bit of an opening above ... claustrophobic anyone?

Gradually it starts to open up ...
Until we come to an opening at the top and a beautiful garden of Cairns (rock trail markers built by people who have been here before us)

Barb and I attempted one, but found it to be much more difficult than it looked and as our guides were moving on without us, we gave up on it :)

Now the trail led us back down the mountain side ...

It was a memorable experience ... one that, once again, we have our wonderful Swiss friends to thank for.

Wild Bird Wednesday

Great Crested Grebe

We went to lunch in a restaurant on Lake Zurich in Wadenswil ... on our way Isabel was talking about a bird carrying her young on her back that she had seen earlier in the summer on the lake, but she didn't know what it was.  Once we got to the lake there were ducks and swans and, of course, Coots but that was all.  We went up on the deck of the boat where the restaurant was and were ordering lunch when I saw the Great Crested Grebe.  We never get them on our lake so I was very excited and Isabel said that was the bird she had seen with the baby on it's back.  He dove a few times and then disappeared ... but, oh what a beautiful bird.

The water in Lake Zurich is so clear, you can see to the bottom in most places.  And, I have to say the water in Switzerland tastes wonderful.  If our water was that good, I would drink it all of the time.  So that is it for today ... Have a wonderful week, everyone :)

NF Inspiring Photography ... Catching The Light

A bit of a stormy day and the skies had cleared in the west allowing the setting sun to shine on the trees and houses across the lake ... I took this with my phone because, when this happens, it seems to come and go quickly and I didn't want to risk missing it ...
