Wild Bird Wednesday

The lake and the channels are beginning to thaw so I am hoping soon we will have some birds coming through and staying for awhile, but in the meantime, I can always count on my little Nut Hatch family to make an appearance at my feeders.  They are always cute and funny ... and my little crew is almost getting tame.  They will come to the feeders even when I am standing right there and they don't fly away when I talk to them.  I really do love them and their little funny sounds as they dart around the tree like little wind up toys.
Enjoy ...

Happy Wild Bird Wednesday :)

Great photos of the nuthatch! We don't get them at the feeders. I haven't seen any in many years.

They are so sweet! Lovely captures. We don't have the white-breasted here, but the red-breasted will eat right out of my hand.

Sweet little birds. I have been seeing "my" Sandhill on the back roads, and I saw the pelicans yesterday! I love this exciting time in nature!

I agree, the nut hatches are adorable. We have some here too. We used to have lots of sparrows too, but this past year a lot of them have disappeared, and are just now beginning to come back. We've had a very small family of them through the winter. I wonder where they could have gone? I miss having them outside my window and peeking in. Your Jack Sparrow Cat is certainly a charmer. I did not get to do anything special for April Fool. Maybe next year. You and Izzi have a great day, hugs Edna & Pogo B.
