turn, turn, turn ..."

"A time for peace, I swear it's not too late"

Mandarin Orange Monday

I am starting out with a cropped out poster edges version of a piece of yarn art.

Then I rotated, used the selection brush to chose a section and then used the distort filter/polar coordinates.

Inverse the selection and use distort/shear filter

Add pdpa (oragified) Sky Love texture and reduce opacity.  Then use mask/brush to highlight some areas.

Add pdpa Sky Love Texture again at an angle and reduce opacity.

Filter Gallery/ Water color

Using color from pdpa Sky Love, created back ground. Added third and sixth version.  Shaped to fit the way I wanted and merged.

Filter/Adjustment/Gradient Map
Does this have meaning? ... only in the eyes of the beholder.  It is simply a process, an experiment led by artistic expression.  Hope you enjoyed the ride ...

Happy MOM!

Random 5 Friday

1.)  I have lived in the Chicago area for nearly 50 years from the far south side, to the west side and now, the far north side.  As long as I have lived here, every time I drive down town (which is often), the traffic is awful!

2.)  The great thing about Chicago is, no matter where you are going or why you are going, there is always something to see.  This Picasso is in front of the City Hall Building.  When I was first married (coming up on 50 years) I used to walk past it every day on my way to work.

3.) This is the old Marshall Fields clock ... I have a picture of my mother taken under this clock in the 1940's.  We loved Marshall Fields and hated when Macy's bought them out ... but they did keep the famous Marshall Fields Frango Mints  and that is a good thing.

4.) The old Wrigley Building ... built in 1920 and finally achieving Chicago landmark status in 2012.  Who knew you could get that rich selling chewing gum :)

5.)  Every where you go in the city you will see the stark contrasts between the old and the new ... what an awesome and stimulating place to live.  You all should come visit Chicago.  You could be here for years, like me, and never see everything they have to offer.

Weekend Reflection

Everyone knows about "The Bean" in Millennium Park.  It is all about reflections and I can't even tell you how much fun it is to go there with a camera.  I have some LOL pictures in the bean, but for today, I am sharing a nice Michigan Avenue shot so you can enjoy a little of Chicago.
Have a Great Weekend, Everyone :)

Good Fences

I know Fences have been a favorite of yours for a long time, Theresa, so this is the perfect meme for you.  Congratulations for inheriting it ... this will be fun.
Should I say this is a fence, but technically it is a railing?  Or, should I say this is a railing, but technically it is a fence?  Guess it doesn't really matter ... it functions as a fence on either count.
