Wild Bird Wednesday

We had a regal visitor last week ...

An Adult male Eagle ...

They come here if we have open water, which at that time we did ...

He wasn't alone, however.  What was it I said last week ...  "the ever vigilant crows".

If I were a crow ... I don't think I would want to be that close ...

would you?

Interesting that the crows don't seem to mind the Eagle. Great photos!

I would be keeping my distance from the big guy. Great photos!

Actually, they do mind him. They are doing what is called mobbing ... they harass him until he leaves. Sometime I will try to video them when they are doing it ... it is very noisy.

I would not! That is a wonderful visitor to have ... Certainly not what I'd call a normal yard-bird! And your pictures do capture him so well... Especially the watchful expression in his eyes.

So exciting! I would adore seeing a bald eagle! Our grandson spied one on a distant tree many years ago when we were driving by the Great Dismal Swamp but I couldn't get a photo.

That is totally awesome. I'd love to have that kind of a visitor. No if I were a crow I wouldn't be brave enough to get that close.
