Thursday Art and Dinner Date
At Work
Yes, I am retired :) But, that doesn't mean I don't do any work. In fact I seem to be busier than I was when I did work full time. Not all fun stuff either ... lots of taking care of people, also cleaning things that have needed cleaning for awhile and one can't forget gardening :) There is always time for fun and I do recall that there was even time for fun when I was working. I was a nurse ... serious business and also very stressful at times. We (meaning myself and my staff) used to find ways to relieve the stress that were always fun. And, if you haven't noticed, medical people tend to have a "sick" sense of humor, so there was a lot of laughing (another stress reliever). Fortunately we had a break room so our sick patients didn't have to hear us carrying on. I miss my fellow nurses and the doctors as well. It was a wonderful life and there is much to be said for caring for the sick if you have any young people in your life trying to figure out what they want to do when they grow up. It has to be one of the most rewarding kinds of work there is. So, as they say, once a nurse, always a nurse. I spend a lot of time now helping people who need it ... I quess that kind of reward is habit forming.
And, Fall is here. Maybe not offically, but the air is fresh and ever so slightly cool. My favorite time of year and soon we will start to see the vibrant colors of Nature's version of fall ... I can't wait! Hope all is well with all of you ...

Yes! We WILL win in the end. I just hope we win well BEFORE the end! (Love this graphic -- very mid-century modern.) Well done, with nursing. I think you have to have that sense of humor to get through so many challenging times.
