Love the 'spangles' on the first bird. Which is?
This is not a hawk ... it just looks like one because of it's coloring. It is a first year juvenile Eagle. Glad you like her ... I though she was pretty speceial too.

Just a common, ordinary Starling ... who are often under appreciated for their beauty. I sometimes get an irridescent green coloring in their feathers as well. I really like them, especially in the winter. In the summer and fall they come in big flocks and eat me out of bird house and home ... :)

This is such a great post and I quite enjoyed viewing each of your lovely entries Andrea. I think Starlings are really beautiful in and then all of your other yard visitors and you having the opportunity to help them with their meals, all very rewarding indeed. The Eagle is the frosting on the cake ;) ~
I love your bird photos, Andrea. All these beautiful critters are in my yard too except for the eagle. I've never seen one in these parts. Or anywhere else in the wild for that matter. I think the starlings are beautiful too. I think I saw a pine siskin a few days ago, but it might have been a young finch. I'm not sure. Either way, I wasn't quick enough with my camera.
It's still wicked cold here, so I guess I'm going to spend most of the winter indoors. In a way it is good because I'm forced to deal with some of my indoor projects that need doing. Such as finishing the kitchen project and re-organizing the pantry. I suppose there's a good side to bad weather.
I've made a good dent in the kitchen project so I'll spend today trying to get a lot of it done. Gosh, I'd rather be frolicking in the warm sunshine. Sighhhhhhh. You have a wonderful day and stay warm. Hugs, Edna B.
