Weekend Reflection

After the tragedy in France, we all need to reflect on the importance of freedom of expression and the need to protect it.  Extremists would like to rule our lives through fear ... stand up to them.  They are cowards who strike behind masks and then hide.  We are better than that ... Je Suis Charlie!

Our past is reflected in many ways ... here a picture grouping of family pictures reflects the lovely glass panel in the front door of my friends house ...

Love your reflections.
I am feeling quite mixed about the latest attack. I deplore it. It isn't justifiable. It also isn't unexpected.
If you have a dog you know bites wandering the neighbourhood, and you poke it and poke it and poke it in an area you know is tender, what do you expect to happen?

That is a lovely doorway, indeed ; I like how it reflects neatly of those frames.

I heard the saying as, if you have a snake living in back of your house, you can't expect it to only bite your neighbors ... and that is ever so true. But, we should be able to express our views without threat of death ... Freedom of expression is essential to a free society. That said ... when all forms of media are controlled by the rich and the truth is not allowed out ... that , to me is a bigger threat than being allowed to poke at someone elses views. This is far more complicated that I ever expected life to be ... wish we could get back to simple truths, respect and honesty. Thanks, EC, you stirred my pot again :)
