Yes, it is a Loon. We have many on our lake right now ... they come in with the Pelicans and they all leave. Our lake has too much boat activity for most birds and especially the shy Loons. Also you are right, the Banana is a Herbaceous plant and the fruit itself is actually a berry ... huh? So it is still a tree a fruit to me ... hope it still works for your meme, ha!
