Wild Bird Wednesday

Wild Bird Wednesday #52

This is the handsome pair of Downy Woodpeckers that lives in our neighborhood.   I see them often, but don't always have my camera handy, but on this day I did ...

Mr. Downy, helping himself to some suet ...

Mrs. Downy waiting her turn ...

and waiting ...

Finally ... tired of waiting, she moved to a different suet feeder.  What ever happened to "Ladies First"?

And, One year it is for Wild Bird Wednesday ... Congratulations, Stewart (didn't I do this already:)

Great captures on these two pretty birds. In the animal kingdom sometimes it's all about them.

Have a terrific day. ☺

I love downies (and hairies, too)! Such friendly birds...at least at my feeder.

I love the way they use their tail as a kickstand while clinging to the food source.

Great photos of the very handsome woodpeckers.

Great shots! We had a pair at the feeders over the winter. The male would always run the female off until he was finished.

I know this pair! They have been coming for years. I love them.
You have a way with a camera & bird shots, especially. Good shots.

Hi there - great pictures of these little woodpeckers.

I wonder if WBW did not show up because of some issue with scheduling? Who knows - but thanks for the information.

Cheers and thanks for the link to WBW.

These woodpeckers are gorgeous! Doesn't the Mrs have the sweetest look on her face? We have some here, and everyone enjoys watching them at the feeders. Your photos are wonderfully sharp and clear. Nice! You have a great evening, hugs, Edna B.
