Scribble Picnic

Spicy!

original

We learned the meaning of "Spicy" in our house when my son married a beautiful young Thai girl.  She does cook for us on occasion and is kind enough to fix a mild version of "spicy" for us ... but if one were ever to taste her sauce they would know the true meaing of "SPICY!"

After we all eat our spicy peppers I'm sure some of the brave will be making faces such as this Andrea! You really got the feeling here in your art.
I do love Thai food, but never order above "little bit spicy" as they really go to town when full on heat is added!
Thailand is one of most beautiful and interesting countries - have you visited? I would love to go back again some day.

HaHah...oh man did you capture the pain. I can only imagine as I cannot eat anything spicy. On saw on fb a man who smoked a hot chili pepper...how stupid...he almost died. Yikes. I love your illustrations and even more determined to stay away from "hot" peppers. HaHa. This so perfect for the theme.

Ahaha this is just great!

I think you got that reaction down pat. Just curious - do you use bread or milk to take away the "sting"?

Ha, yes, I can well imagine! too funny take, Andrea! It looks really hot! My son's former freind/GF was from Laos and a similar story there. His current GF is a Saudi and cooks wonderfully but he can handle Arabic spice way better. lol. Of course, now he's in the middle of the Kalahari (Botswana) in the poorest region where cooking is another thing altogether--no spice at all pretty much--mainly beans.

Great job. BTW, I will reply to your IG issues on your comment on my site. I'm thinking you are trying to perhaps post to IG from a web browser which won't work. You have to do it from your phone app. Maybe that will help? :)

And THAT is why I stay away from spicy food as much as possible! :-) Great illustration.

My son's wife is from Louisiana, and she too cooks more "mildly" if we're going to be eating with them!

Very goo rendition of "spicy." I don't do spicy foods though. They're not my cup of tea. However, lots of folks do love them. You have a great day, hugs, Edna B.
