Wild Bird Wednesday

Plump Killdeers :)

My friend and I went for a ride through the Bong Nature Preserve and this was all that we saw ... because before we even got half way through the skies opened up and we were poured upon.  We  knew it was coming because you could see and smell it
... but we had hoped for more time.  These two fatties were along side a little pond which is a common place to find the Killdeers in this park.  All the other birds, it would seem, had enough sense to take cover :)

Hey Andrea... thanks for stopping by my blog to see my little sweetie... and, thanks for the identification. What does it mean... a "branchling"... I've never heard that term.

Those killdeer do seem quite chubby don't they? hahahahaha.......

I like killdeers but have only seen three this season. Not much. But of course, most of the wet lands are dried out. Only two still with water. And now birds are gathering in one of them.

You have a beautiful blog. We came by last Saturday; admiring your Caturday Art, but for some reason were unable to comment ... so doing so now: it was amazing!

"They have been on a good pasture" as they (sometimes) say here! They do look in peak condition.

Things have been busy here, even by my standards! Looking forward to two weeks at home!
