World Bird Wednesday

On a trip to Texas, we took a paddle boat into the channels off of Lake Livingston to see what we could see ... Imagine our joy when we came across a group of Snow Egrets.  Because the paddle boat is quiet, we were able to get fairly close and stay for a short time before they left.

Preening seemed to be the priority for this Egret ... getting ready to meet his lady, maybe?

Aaaaaah ... How Handsome am I?

Off to safer Havens ...

As we were leaving we realized we were not alone among the reeds ...

That is one amazing display. Oh and the water moccasin is so creepy. I'm glad we have no poisonous in Michigan!
