Sunday Sketches

Father's Day
I don't, as a rule, use somebody else's art to illustrate a point, but when I came across the artist Psithyrus, he said everything I wanted to say better than I could have hoped for.  Having a Father in your life is so important in every way.  If you are lucky enough to have a really wonderful Father your life will reflect all that he has shared with you and you will be able to pass it on to your own children.  I was blessed with such a father and miss him every day, but still live by what he taught me about life.  Maybe that is why I find it so hard to accept what has happened in my country ... the loss of values, the disrespect, the lies and lack of compassion.  It wasn't like that when I grew up and still shouldn't be like that now.  The fathers in today's world should take a stand and teach their children about truth, fairness, acceptance and compassion ... that is their job along with the Mothers at their side.  It is up to them what kind of life their children will inherit ... I pray they find their way and make things right again.
