This was forwarded to me by a friend and it is loaded with good information and a few things you might not want to hear ... but you will have heard it by the time you figure out what it is you might not want to hear, so be warned. I do take exception to the fact that this person is petting and handling his owls as you would a pet which is not a safe thing to do and not to be taken as the appropriate way to treat an owl. The fact that they are little fuzzy puffballs as babies is why they fall pray to well meaning humans who think they will make adorable pets ... I can't tell you how many of these owls end up living their life in captivity because of this ill fated choice on the part of unknowing adults or children. So please take in the good information here and leave the rest behind. Enjoy!

We had an owl in our barn when I was a kid. My father made sure that all us kids left that owl alone. He took care of all the mice and rats. A wonderful asset to a farm.
Have a terrific day. ☺
Well I listen and just spat out the bits i did not like!! Interesting.
Goodness, interesting video. I've never seen baby owls, so I enjoyed seeing them. But I agree, these birds should be left to grow and live in the wild as they were meant to. Andrea, I hope your hand is much better today. I know you'll be glad when you will have full use of it again. I'm wishing you a beautiful day, hugs, Edna B.
The commentary was given by an oxygen thief, but there were some wonderful photos and some interesting information.
And no, owls are not pets. Tigers are not pets. Not everything in this world was put here for our gratification or amusement. I know - a radical view...
There is nothing radical about your view ... it is an honest, intelligent view coming from a person who has taken the time to learn and to care. Thank you EC.

I wish everyone was more aware of what your father knew. Now the Barn Owls are endangered in our area because of loss of habitat ... not many welcoming barns anymore. Thanks for sharing this Sandee

There was a lot of good information about owls in the video and parts of it appealed to my strange sense of humor, but there was something about his voice or delivery that was disconcerting. But overall it was enjoyable - lots of nice owl photos.
