Christmastime
Just a reminder that Christmas time is not always joyous for everyone ... but, as giving is the best part of this holiday season, now would be a good time to remember the Shelters and Pantries that are working hard to bring some joy to those who have so little.

Wishing a Joyous Christmas for ALL

Great message Andrea, and a wonderful sketch. :) We have a box full of food we're bringing to the aid counter this morning. We're by no means well-off, but we have everything we need, so we know we are fortunate. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas! xx

I am heading in to our crisis line shortly (with a stop at the early morning centre for the homeless first). Christmas is a VERY difficult time for lots of people.
I hope yours and the year(s) to come is marvellous.

This is very heartwarming and close to home. Recently, a family member far away from us had to spend a month in a Women's shelter. Unless you are homeless, it hard to really understand how much love and care is appreciated. Thanks for making us all aware again of how important giving is....especially at Christmastime.

What a wonderful bit of art, and the message is super. We should always be finding ways to help others who are less fortunate. Helping others always makes my heart smile. Pogo sends woofs and Christmas greetings to Izzi. I'm wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas. Hugs, Edna B.

You are so right Andrea. Even just dropping a donation into a pot outside a store gives a good feeling, and hopefully helps someone in need. I do feel sad for the needy at this time of year - your illustration made me stop and realize how much I have to be thankful for.
Happy Christmas to you and your family.

A beautiful sketch with an important reminder, Andrea. It's certainly not a happy time for everyone and we should all be mindful of that.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

Andrea, such a poignant piece. Thank you. So well said too. I am so thankful for all the (mainly) church/faith centred communities out there so help those in such dire circumstance. Alex's own brother is homeless (in San Jose) and has been for about 20 years now. It is so very hard. Unlike her, he never sought the counsel he needed to break the chains of their upbringing. It's very sad as he doesn't feel worthy enough, even when he lived with us for 3 months for a fresh start after his wife died and he tried to get off the streets. We both are amazed he keeps going and never know from week to week if he is alive as he has no way to contact us and they've all been pushed out to the edges of the city where there is no internet or libraries, etc.

Alex also has a good friend whose niece and great neice is in a shelter. We jsut got a lovely little card through her from th little girl. The thought of her future is so sad.

Hoping in the season, and through it all, you can spread cheer from the cheer you yourself find at home or elsewhere. Thank you so much for all your support over the year.
