Mandarin Orange Monday

This started out as a simple tree stump ... yes, another tree stump.  An old aged tree stump with lots of character.  I would love to show you the original, but as I started this several days ago and have been away at an Izzi trial all weekend,  I have forgotten where I fond it.   Good Grief!  But you can follow my dabblings anyway ...

As always, I wonder if you see what I see ... :)

Giving Thanks

Hello ... I was hoping we could have a little talk before it is too late.  You see, I wanted to tell you that Thanksgiving shouldn't have anything to do with Turkeys.  Yes, I know, you think it is all self interest that motivates this conversation, but that isn't true.  Thanksgiving should be about you ... each of you and the ability to appreciate what you have ... no matter how little or how simple it is, what you have is a gift from God and you need to be thankful ...  and you are, I know you are.  But, back to my original point ... you really don't have to eat a Turkey to prove that you are thankful.  If you really want to show it, give something to someone else who has a need.  That is what I would do ... so click on the link (Giving Thanks)below and see what being thankful is really all about.  And have a wonderful holiday with your family and friends ... just sayin' :)

Good Fences

You can see there are two fences here.  The first is a railing on one of many over passes on the expressway ... the second was built after we had a rash of accidents on the expressway caused by people throwing stuff, mostly rocks at the cars below.  I am thankful for this fence, but not thankful for the kind of behavior that required it to be built.

Please notice that several birds were on the bird bath.  The birds need water in the winter.  Yes, they can eat snow, but it brings down their body temperature and their survival in cold weather depends on their being able to keep their body temperature up.  So if you haven't already ... invest in a heated water source for your birds :)

Geometric Friday

Believe it or not, this started out with a line of weave poles (agility poles that the dogs weave through) and then suddenly I was here.  Well, it is geometric, so it works, right? And, I learned some new tricks in the process ... now the real trick will be to remember what they are ...  It is fun to be old:)
