Our World Tuesday

http://ourworldtuesdaymeme.blogspot.com/

I grew up around horses,  and I was riding as soon as I was old enough to be able to get on a horse on my own.  I rode western and it was strictly for pleasure.  I didn't take lessons or train, I just rode whenever I could because I loved it.  My sister trained horses, so I had the opportunity to ride more than my friends.  Back when I was growing up, if you didn't live on a farm, it wasn't often that you got to ride.  I was lucky and though, truth be known, I probably couldn't even get in the saddle anymore, I still love horses and spend time near them whenever I can.  This beautiful Friesian belongs to a friend who lives on a ranch close to my home.  I go there often because my dog plays with their dogs.  They asked me if I would take these pictures and I jumped at the opportunity ... Yes, since it is The Year of the Horse (Chinese New Year) it is the perfect time to get them out again ... hope you enjoy :)

The Friesian, the size of a light draft horse, but  graceful and

nimble.

Happy New Year!

Gorgeous!! Friesian horses are so beautiful! I rode horses for many years in my teens. Every day when I could, but I haven't ridden now for years and don't really care to sit on a horse again. I still love to be around them, love their smell and their soft lips. :) Beautiful photos!! xoxo Silke

One of my favorite breeds of horse. If I ever had a horse it would be one of those for sure. I'm very fond of the cold bloods/draft breeds! Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful photos! I love being around horses, and last year, at summer camp, that is all my daughter wanted to do. My daughter's sign is the horse, actually. And, it suits her to a tee.

Ohhhhh, beautiful!!!!!!!

Thank you.

I just discovered it is the year of The Yang Wood Horse, and I was thrilled. In fact, I did a post on this, today.

How lucky you were, to be able to get to know and love horses, and ride. I never had the opportunity to do any of those things. -sigh- So I love horses, but am afraid of them. -large sigh-

What gorgeous photos!! I never got the chance to learn to ride a horse, but would have loved the chance. I grew up in the city, and there were no farms around. I don't think I would attempt to learn how to ride now, but I do enjoy looking at these magnificent animals.

We got a few inches of snow yesterday, and have more coming tonight and tomorrow. I hope we get enough to use the snow blower. Poor Joe is getting really tired of shoveling. I think we'll all be so glad to see Spring arrive. I did get a few photos of some new little green shoots coming up through the ground already. Amazing how they can survive in all this cold weather. I do have to go out this afternoon to get my nails done. They are in really sad shape. I'm hoping the snow holds off until after I am back in the house. You have a wonderful day, hugs, Edna B.
