  Sappy Nappy

    "The Napper" lives in the same house as "The Thinker"(for those of you who follow McGuffy's Reader).  She is better known  for her sappy looks, but today we caught another side of Maggie P.  Ahhhhhhh,  Such a life :)

 

Wordless Wednesday

Hi, it's me, Izzi, again.  Today I am going to introduce you to my other "Big Boy" Kitty Buddy ... well really, he's da boss.

His name is Fonzi.  My Mom named him Fonzi because he is the Alpha.  He is the most kindest Alpha I'z ever mets, but he is da Boss and will let you know it, if he needs to. 

Fonzi is a Sun Worshiper ... (and you notice he doesn't share it very well.)

He herds me back ... but then he head bumps me to lets me know that he really, really likes me.  I really, really likes him too ...

I never tire of Cardinal pictures.  They are so vivid and perky ... I love to watch them.  Usually they flit in and out of the feeder and off to a more secluded place to eat, but this morning he was more leisurely and I was there to capture it.  Enjoy ...

Inspiration Avenue

Show & Tell I have all kinds of Photo Art that I have dabbled with over the years.  Some for a specific purpose, others just for the fun of it.  I thought of this picture right away when I saw your challenge this week.  I did this as part of a group of pictures that were to be used illustrating a book  ... it didn't make the cut.  But, I still really liked it, so here's my chance to put it out there.

Happy MOM ... I missed you and your meme last week Lori ... glad you are back to routine ... that is a healthy start to moving through the grieving process.  You remain in my thoughts ...

This was a picture of a piece of lace that I colored with orange then added the sunflowers for a focal point.  Each is only subtly different from the other.

This is my favorite.  I really enjoyed creating "Sir Chicken".  He is, in real life, a less ornate metal sculpture that is sitting in the feed store where I buy my bird seed.  I couldn't pass him up.  Kudos to the artist ...

I am not, in general, a pink person, but I turned to pink this week in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Week on Inspiration Avenue. 

   Alas, I have finished my Zentangle before it closed (I think).  This is a first :)

Photo Art Friday

  Some of you know already that I have collected elephants for well over sixty years, so, as you can imagine, my house is full of them ... many of them vintage.  

This is a "Baby Mine" Toothpick holder from the early 20th century.  

These are lids to a set of Depression Glass Elephant Powder Boxes  

When I graduated from nursing a friend started a collection of "Invalid Cups" for me.  These were used both to feed and to medicate sick family members in the home in the early 20th century.  Many had them in the pattern of their personal china.  

For a change of pace, I drew from my husband's collection.  He worked for one of the big bad oil companies for years and now has a collection of Gas Globes.   There's more where these came from Bonnie, so any time you want to repeat "Vintage" I'm game:)
