Scribble Picnic

Lets Dance
My parents were wonderful ballroom dancers and when I was knee high to a grasshopper, they taught me to ballroom dance too ... It is the most delightful, enjoyable form of dance to me.  Saddly there aren't many dance partners available who can ballroom dance today, so it is becoming a lost art, at least in my life ...   But, I love  just the memory of it :)

Andrea this is so lovely - the position of the dancers is perfect and her emerald dress with her red hair is awesome. Learned ballroom dancing as a teen - a group of girlfriends went weekly (Thurs. evenings) to a dance studio - it was the only decent place then where you could meet boys, without the parents giving you a lecture, haha!!!!!!

This is a lovely piece. I love watching ballroom dancing, and that you parents and you do that is quite impressive. That's my favorite dance when watching Dancing with the Stars.
Her dress is lovely and it shows the movement of the dance.

I love this Andrea! I used to watch the show "So You Think You Can Dance" when I had a tv, and it opened me up to so many styles of dancing that I just loved! The way you sparkled her beautiful dress is wonderful!!! I love that green! :)

Wonderful illustration, Andrea...quite elegant. Love her red hair! I remember going to Ballroom Dancing classes each week with my best friend in our late teens...early twenties. It was so much fun!

There is so much movement in this. It's beautiful and certainly looks like a wonderful time they're having dancing. I love watching ballroom dancing and wish I had had more exposure to it when I was younger.

Ahhh.... ballroom dancing is indeed such a lost art for so many. I did take classes in college but never had a chance to really use those moves so now have forgotten most of it all. I do love ballroom though and love how you captured the sparkles in the dress. What a glorious time for dance. How fun it must have been to have parents who were so good at it. My father is actually an amazing dancer, even in his 80s, but he too finds it challenging to find anyone to dance with these days as either he is too old for the younger women who can dance or the older women often can’t move about like he can.
GReat memories and pice. Thank you Andrea.
