Our World Tuesday

My granddaughter is a senior in high school.  She has been in gymnastics since she was six years old.  When she was old enough she was given a choice ... she could quit or she could  commit and she chose to commit.  She has worked hard, year round to perfect her skills while at the same time maintaining good grades in school.  She is not headed for the Olympics  nor will she continue with it in college ... but what she has done is learned the value of making a commitment, working hard and keeping focused on a goal.  She has career plans that will take another commitment and she will succeed because she has grown up to be a lovely, responsible young lady. That is why I am so proud of her :)

She is just lovely and her gymnastic skills look pretty amazing. It really does take alot to keep up this type of work to develop a skill like this! Good for her, and no wonder you are so proud of her.

you have all the right to be proud. This brought so many memories to my mind as I have worked with gymnastics for kids as well as a teacher for small children.

She must also be proud of her Grandma with those amazing shots you have taken.

Hi Andrea. She is certainly committed to be able to do it to this standard. Age looks lovely and you have captured her in motion very well. You must be VERY proud.

Andrea, these are fabulous action shots. Your granddaughter is just lovely. No wonder you are so proud of her. Her moves look well thought out and yet so graceful. Gymnastics is very demanding, and her commitment now will lay a solid foundation for her adulthood. In the 8th photo down, she looks so happy and pleased with herself. And rightly so. Imagine how pleased she will be in years to come to be able to look back at all of these wonderful photos that her grandma has taken of her.

Just a thought, but a photo book would make a fabulous gift for some future occasion. Now I'm off to catch up with the rest of your posts. You have a fabulous day, hugs, Edna B.

Oh what I have gymnastics loved as a child ... but my mother forbade me training (instead she forcing me an instrument to learn, but I was very unmusical and did not enjoy it -) .. :-(
Nice that you are so proud and that she gets support in their own wish. That is so important at a young ag.
She is so beautiful and aestetical.

Landed it - with precision and style, the pair of you!
How lovely that you were able to watch, and take such great photo's. Where does she get the Gymnastics skills from, isn't it usually inherited from the Grandmother?!
Thank you for your charming comments on my blog, I have loved having you visit.

She is beautiful, all ways.

And you should be very, very proud of her.

What a wonderful basis for life, she has given herself, so young. Nothing worthwhile in life, comes without commitment and work. She knows this, already.
