Last week we had lots of snow ...

 

I love snow almost as much as I love my Frisbees ...

Some times my Frisbees get lost in the snow ...

 

and, usually, I can find them ...

 

But, sadly, somewhere in this big yard lies one of my beloved Frisbees ... we

 probably won't see it again until it thaws ... sigh!

But I still love the snow ... :)

 

How about you guys ... do you love playing in the snow?

I love doing the Zentangle dare, but I am either very slow or just don't have the time some people have to put into it.  Anyway, I fianlly finished this one and, though it is late, I am posting it anyway.  Too much work goes into this to not put it to use ... :)

Good News ... Lady Hawk is back:)  All of my concerns were for naught.  She showed up in my tree, right outside my winder and sat there for well over an hour, conserving, warming ... observing.

Note that she is sitting (roosting) with one foot tucked into her feathers ... she periodically would change feet as the one that was out got cold.

She is very alert ... observing everything around her

 

 

including me ...

 

After a long time, the foot came down ...

 

And she started preparing for flight ...

 

aligning her tail feathers ...

 

stretching her wings ...

 

 

lightening her load :)

 

ruffling her feathers to get them all in place ...

stretching each leg ...

 

giving me a brief look at the tools of her trade ...

Back to stealth mode ... I knew she was ready to go and I was ready with my camera ...

 

But in the time it took me to push the shutter button, she was gone ... into the bush behind the tree ...

 

You can't see it, but she has prey ... she has made a kill and I am in awe of her swiftness and efficacy.  No, I don't like that she has killed, but she kills to survive and that is how nature works.  So, I allow myself to be in awe ...

As always a fun prompt.  I keep wondering when I will run out of ideas ... but, I am not going to worry about it until it happens.  I do have enough pictures to play with for many years :)  Thanks Bonnie, I learned some new techniques by following your sample in the  Photo Art Resource Cache.  Everyone who can, should join ... it is well worth it!

Pdpa Dropped Petals, Maroon Bells Mountains, soft light blend, mask/brush; Cowboy, select, extract, mask/brush;  aspen, select, extract, mask/brush;  Text with soft shadow.   This one fails the "abstract" test.  Don't know what it is doing in here, but hey ... I used the Pdpa Dropped Petals, that should count for something, right?
