 Favorite Birds

It goes without saying that the Raptors are my favorite birds ... but I really love all birds and I have a hard time committing to any one bird or kind of bird as a favorite.  I have endless number of pictures of birds.  I have tried to gather a few of them, but, believe me when I say, I have only scratched the surface 😁

If I must pick a favorite, it would be the Turkey Vulture.  An often maligned character, who is an essential part of ecological balance.  The Turkey Vultures are social within their group.  When we rescued our Turkey Vulture he was unable to be returned to his natural setting, so he became social with his handlers.  He was playful and a joy to spend time with.  Everybody loved Turkey ...  

The eagles in the tree were in my front yard at our home on the lake ... I miss the joy of their visits.  The eagle in the center and on the bottom was a rescue which we happily were able to release after a short visit at the center.

Again, in a tree in my yard ... :)

Granted, the bubbles seem to take second place to the rest of the picture, but they are there none the less :)

Three Cheers for Harvard University ... a big step toward ending the reign of terror by "The Idiot" and his opulent sycophants ...  It is hard for me to believe that we won't put an end to this sooner than later :) 

Don't give up on us ... we are stronger than you (or he) thinks :)

There is a story here ... years ago my friend had emptied her pool for the winter, but, during the winter, rain and snow had collected in the bottom.  In the Spring the resident frogs laid their eggs in the water.  By the time we went out to clean the pool and fill it with water, it was full of Tadpoles.  These pictures are us saving the Tadpoles from certain death by scooping them up, putting them in pails and pouring them in a local stream.  We never went back to see if they survived, but in my heart I know at least some of them lived (if not all of them) to be a handsome Frog Prince and live happily ever after 😄

It was Spring in the Arboretum this week ... just wanted to share it with you :)

And to all my friends around the world ... please know that most Americans do not like, do not agree with or want to tolerate Donald Trump.  I am not alone in that I abhor what he is doing to our friends,  allies and to us.  This will end, but I don't know how yet ... I do know we love our democracy and even those who voted for him are alarmed at his actions.  Say a prayer for all of us ...
