Rain Frances Creations ... Chicago Botanical Gardens Fabric Art Show

Not that I have anything against Pizza ... but once again I am opting to deviate from Rain's prompt.  I recently attended this show with my friend, as I do every year, and every year it is more amazing.  So I chose to share it with you (especially for Gene Black, who, if he didn't live so far away, would have beautiful art in this show).  Enjoy ...

So much to choose from, but this elephant was by far my favorite, not only for the skill in achieving it, but I have loved elephants since a very young age.  I would hang this on my wall if I could.
So, that's it for this week ... it is snowing outside today, so I have to face the fact that it is winter.  I love winter snows, but do not enjoy the gray days of which there are many.  So I hope the sun is shining in your life today ...

Wow, wow and wow. If I lived nearby I would be there in a heatbeat. Probably several times.
It is heating up here. Fast. I would LOVE some snow.

Oh, Andrea, these take my breath away. Talk about art -- they are magnificent in color, design and workmanship. I am simply blown by the diversity of subjects and the marvelous use of color. Thank you so much for sharing them. And thanks, too, for your wonderful comment on my post about Wells. It was indeed special and I'm so glad you saw that too!

As you may know, Andrea, Miriam is a quilter and we are both thrilled to see this fine art, because that’s exactly what it is. Were we in Chicago we would definitely make a bee line for this show. I have quite a collection of original art by the Canadian wildlife artist Barry Kent MacKay, and when I visited his studio to buy my latest acquisition he made the comment, “If you are married to a quilter you are familiar with the creative process.” It’s true; I see it every day. It’s always a pleasure to visit your blog but this entry gives us extra pleasure. Now let’s hope that Blogger doesn’t whisk this comment away into the ether! Hugs - David
