I could have or should have taken the time to put the names to the different skeletons, but didn't have the time this week ... and apparently didn't take the time when I was at the museum to get the names down. Maybe next time ... sorry :(
It is hot and the air is loaded with debris from the Canadian forest fires ...best to stay in with the air conditioner :) Hope all is well in your neck of the woods :)

Wonderful extinct selection including the art Andrea. That extinct fish skeleton grabbed my eye.
Must have been a wonderful visit, Andrea. It's the sort of place where I could happily spend two or three days, especially if I could arrange a "behind the scenes" visit. I have done that twice with the curators of ornithology at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto and I got to see what they really have, and talk with the experts. Only a very small portion of the collection is on display as I am sure you realize. Sorry that we are probably exporting smoke to you at present as our boreal forest continues to be destroyed. I grieve for the wildlife that has been lost and the habitat that will no longer exist for breeding species from the neotropics when they return next year. Stay cool my dear friend - David
Names or no, I love this post. I so wish I could visit there. You always go to the best places. Wish we had anything like this near me. Thank yo uso much for sharing it. Have a wonderful day.
I spent many days roaming around the Field Museum as a kid, and was always fascinated by the displays. One of my favorite was the coal mine. As a kid the machinery was shown as the latest mechanical ways to mining, now the same machinery is shown as the first generation antique machinery. Same exhibit, but a very different interpretation.
What a fascinating place. I could happily spend hours there.
I am sorry about the smoke - and mourn for the wildlife, some of whom are no doubt being pushed towards extinction.
Nice play on the meme, Rain
Really nice responses to the extinct prompt.
Happy Thursday.
Much💚love
Is that "Sue" at the Field Museum? I visited Chicago years ago and loved all the extinct creatures at the Field MUseum. If I wasn't so busy showing Iceland I would have had a lot of fun with extinct creatures. Their size is unbelievable, isn't it? You look cute pterodactyl (am I right?). hugs-Erika
It`s really extraordinary visiting such a Museum, looking back in the past time of our planet. The animals was frightening. And I`m glad being in our epoch.
Your sketches are fantastic! Wouldn`t you like to share at MosaicMonday? It would be a great pleasure for me. The pictures are fascinating and very attractive.
Hugs by Heidrun
