Friday Face Off ...

So can you guess ... is this a male or a female?  The answer is obvious I think 😁

Gender of this hawk in your photo is not obvious to me. But then I seldom get this close to hawks.

Andrea at first sight I would say female but then I am not sure what kind of hawk it is. You got me on this one. Either way, I love this photo. Perfectly shot. Thank you for sharing it with FFO. Have a lovely day.

Not one to tangle with. He/she can be anything they want.

To be honest Andrea, i didn't even know it was a hawk until I read the comments! It's certainly an incredible entry to FFO and a stupendous close up.

I'm going to say male because of the yellow. It's a cool photo. What type of hawk is it? Happy weekend and happy Easter if you celebrate.

I am sure that you are not looking for a literal ID here, Andrea, and that you have some whimsical or wicked answer up your sleeve. It looks as though it is screaming in anger, with vitriol spewing from its mouth, so it must be a male politician of the Republican persuasion. No doubt a disciple of the Great Orange Pumpkin! Dear Andrea, I'm relieved that the answer isn't obvious to many others either - that's what happens to me too...
