Thursday Art Date With Rain

Eye of the Tiger ...

EYES and EARS

Who doesn't think of cats when the subject of eyes come up ...

But there is another group of hunters that are well known for their eyes ...

The Raptors!

The Red Eyes of the Adult Cooper's Hawk are stunning if you can get close enough to see them.

And then, of course, there is the Eagle Eye ...

Truth is, there are many kinds of eyes to look at ...

Then there are eyes that are just eyes  ...

This, believe it or not, is a cake designed by a Bakery from my home town.  It was for the Chicago Flower and Garden Show.

There is also the eye of the storm ...

Snake eyes ...

The "eyes" have it ...

The eye of the needle ...

and many, many more, but I need to move on to ...
*****
 Ears ...

Raptors have a unique story to tell about their ears ... You can't see them because they are hidden beneath the feathers on the edge of their facial disk.  This little video will tell you how special they are ...

All for this week ... Stay safe, Be well and Find ways to enjoy life in these difficult times :)

I didn't think of cats when I saw the theme but they do have such eyes, you can't help but look at them. Owls also, haunting eyes, they have.

Have a lovely day.

Andrea,

The first thing to come to mind is realistic eyes and ears. That's what I went with for this week's prompt but it seems others are on the same page as you this time. I've always been amazed how birds can spot they prey from a mile(s) away and swoop in with deadly accuracy for their meal. I wish I had that kind of aim. :) The eye of a needle has gotten hard to see with my aging eyes. I remember when I was little, my grandma would ask me to thread her needle and I thought, "Why can't she do this?" I had no idea at the time that even though someone might not wear glasses normally they might need them for small detail work. I hate relying on glasses for reading! Have a nice evening!

Andrea, your cat photos are fabulous. And our basketball team, The Raptors lost last night, unfortunately.
You asked me how I made a mask from a picture of our kitties.
There are several companies that I found are making masks from your photos. One is https://fujifilmprintlife.ca/ and https://www.bestcanvas.ca/

both cats and owls are well know for their eyes. But I was surprised for the needle. Never would have thought of that one. Cool!

Love the music Eyes of the tiger.
I love your imagination. I had problem finding one ear. :)

Oh Andrea, I am visiting my neighbor Sally, so I must keep this brief. My internet appears to be fine, but my power supply cord went bad mid-Thursday morning, at least that is what my computer guru friend Scott thinks. He will try to get a new one for me in town on Monday. If not, he will buy one at Amazon.

Talk about prolific. You create great art and beautiful paintings. I'm in total awe. You draw better than many artists who show their work online. You are both creative and amazing. One of my favorites is the owl in the looking glass. Of course, the cats are favorites, too. Just beautiful art and I AM SO SORRY I wasn't able to visit sooner.
