History
History of Immigration

Immigration is in the soul of the United States. We were founded by immigrants and we have thrived to greatness by the hands of a constant flow of immigrants who found opportunity here and gave back in so many ways.  Without open and caring immigration we will shrivel down to nothing but greed and hate ...

That's all for me today ... History was hard mainly because there are too many choices, but I tried to pick subjects that reflected my personal experiences (not that I was in the roaring twenties, but my parents were as kids and they had many stories to tell).  Thank you, Rain ... another fun week :)

The Line Up

I am greeted with this little "Line Up" every day.  They all have body clocks that speak to them every morning at 6AM and evening at 5PM.  Chachie is the spokes person for the group.  He does all the talking while the others just sit there with their big eyed stare.  I bet every pet owner out there knows just what I am talking about :) This is a cartoon that lives with me :)

This combines my sketch with a public domain cartoon background.  If any of you have had fox in your neighborhood you probably know why I love them for their beauty and for their antics.  They are a wonderful part of our vast natural world.

Disney has come out with a new Dumbo movie, but the original Dumbo was born in 1941 just like me.  He, of course, was my first toy and my "blankie" for many years.  Believe it or not, I still have my original Dumbo though he is hardly recognizable at this point.  (Painted on Photoshop and framed in PicMonkey)

Anime

These were drawn by my 10 year old Granddaughter, Poppy. awesome, right?

I think that's it for this week.  I have to say it is fun being on Rain's Meme ... looking forward to next week already.  And, soon Micheal will be back ... Life is Good!

Moon

These are a combination of photography and graphic art.  All are from my archives since I didn't find Rain's Thursday Art  until recently.  I will try to be more original in the future ...

Hearts

Original

Well at least this time I drew and painted my lady, but then couldn't resist finding a background on the internet that would set her off.  Anyway if you can't read it, my heart in hand says "kindness, Love and honesty" ... three values that come from the heart.  I wish they were more prevalent than they are, but each of us can do our part to fill our lives with the kind of love and values that build happiness.  I know you  all have big hearts which is why I love coming here to share with you.

Market

Original

Using multiple graphic art programs, I converted the original picture into a water color painting.  This picture is far to complicated to paint in a short time frame ... and I am not sure I could do it free hand even if I had the time.  Yes, this is cheating a bit, but the Sunday Night Street Market in Chiang Mai was  perfect for this prompt.  Hope you enjoy ...

New Years Party

We celebrate New Years at home because there are too many crazies on the road.  We watch the New York count down and then the Chicago fireworks , drink a toast, share a kiss and go to bed.  Yes, midnight is past my bedtime and I am not worth much past the hour of eleven.  But then, each day following is a celebration of the New Year.  I wish you all a glorious, creative year :)

And, Thanks to Rain, I have my comments back, so please come see me and say hello :)

This art work is a combination of digital cut, paste, paint and the people and cats are drawn and digitally painted.
