Cathy's Art and Dinner Date ... Sunrise

Sunrise

 New Art

We always had spectacular sunrises on Channel Lake.  Sitting on the deck, coffee in hand ... it was a joy that I miss dearly.  Phuket, Thailand was another place that had sunrises to die for ... and, of course, I miss Phuket as well.   In my life, Nature was always serving up beauty in a million different ways.  I even love a good Thunder Storm and the smell in the air after a good rain.   Man has tampered with Nature's Art and we had made an effort to correct our ways ... until, of course, President Idiot shut down all of our committments to stopping Global Warming.  I hope the efforts by the rest of the world will be enough.

Fresh air and fall colors ... what a delight!  Wishing you all a wonderful Fall week :)

I have never had Witches Brew.  I am not sure I would like it though it looks like it might have lots of veggies in it.  Sorry, I don't have a recipe to share :(  So enjoy the beautiful Fall Weather :)

Thursday Art and Dinner Date ... At Work

Thursday Art and Dinner Date

At Work

Yes, I am retired :)  But, that doesn't mean I don't do any work.  In fact I seem to be busier than I was when I did work full time.  Not all fun stuff either ... lots of taking care of people, also cleaning things that have needed cleaning for awhile and one can't forget gardening :)  There is always time for fun and I do recall that there was even time for fun when I was working.  I was a nurse ... serious business and also very stressful at times.  We (meaning myself and my staff) used to find ways to relieve the stress that were always fun.  And, if you haven't noticed, medical people tend to have a "sick" sense of humor, so there was a lot of laughing (another stress reliever).  Fortunately we had a break room so our sick patients didn't have to hear us carrying on.  I miss my fellow nurses and the doctors as well.  It was a wonderful life and there is much to be said for caring for the sick if you have any young people in your life trying to figure out what they want to do when they grow up.  It has to be one of the most rewarding kinds of work there is.  So, as they say, once a nurse, always a nurse.  I spend a lot of time now helping people who need it ... I quess that kind of reward is habit forming.
And, Fall is here.  Maybe not offically, but the air is fresh and ever so slightly cool.  My favorite time of year and soon we will start to see the vibrant colors of Nature's version of fall ... I can't wait!  Hope all is well with all of you ...

Just so you know ...

We are not sitting idly by ... "We the People"

Finding my way back ...

So, what does one do when their favorite Art Blog goes on hiatus ... well, I have to admit, it has been a struggle.  I had grown dependent on Rain's prompts to inspire my art so I had to find a different source.

My Granddaughter (the older one) turned out to be my source.  She just turned 29 and she was married on Dec.21st of last year ... Sooooo, why not a book of Granddaughter memories :)

If you have ever laid out a book you know that you go front to back until you reach the middle, therefore the few samples I post here will each show early life and recent life ... let me tell you, at my age, this was not easy 😅

So, just a few sample pages ....
 on  to the next :)

Charicatures of Hayley and Justin (to be honest, I drew the faces and borrowed the bodies from public domain :)

On to my other source of inspirations ...

The bane of America's exsistance !

I avoid listening to the news most of the time because his rediculousness is constantly on it ... so instead I draw pictures to relieve myself of the anger and disgust I feel everytime I think of him.
So, what's new with you?  I miss my friends on line and hope I will figure out a way to become active again.  Meanwhile, enjoy what is left of summer ... and honestly, I am looking forward to fall :)

Rain Frances Creations ... Blink

 Blink

As "blink" was an almost impossible prompt, I thought I would add some more pictures from Spring in the Arboretum :)

Things seem to go from bad to worse here in the USA ... I don't know if our country will even be recognizable at the end of it's 4 year term.  All I ask is that you all be patient with us.  He does not represent the ideas or feelings of the American people.  We have anti-Trump demonstrations all across the country every day. and we are all hoping that if we can regain control of congress in 2026, we will be able to impeach him ... fingers crossed.  Meanwhile, I hope you are all enjoying a refreshing Spring.
