Rain Frances Creations ... Crowns

 Crown
(For the love of a tree)

Description

The crown of a plant is the total of an individual plant's aboveground parts, including stems, leaves, and reproductive structures. A plant community canopy consists of one or more plant crowns growing in a given area. Wikipedia

"That's the trouble with people, their root problem.  Life runs alongside them, unseen.  Right here, right next.  Creating soil. Cycling water.  Trading in nutrients. Making weather.  Building atmosphere.  Feeding and curing and sheltering more kind of creatures than people know how to count." (a quote from "The Overstory" by Richard Powers.)
And yet we continue to ravage our forest for the sake of wood to build our homes when there will be no homes to build when there is no oxygen to breath.  Trees give to the land ... man takes away.  What a shame they can't see past their greed ...

Your final paragraphs say it all. We are a species packed with very slow learners.
And how I loved your photos - being a tree hugger from way back.

Love your birds in trees photos. Always good to see whole bird colonies raising a new generation.

Firstly, thank you for your comment, dear Andrea. I always enjoy the lively exchange with you via the blog.

A wonderful post, a tribute to the trees, to nature. And I agree with you. We should take much more care of our environment, plants and animals. Flora and fauna are irreplaceable. Just recently, I released an - admittedly annoying - fly into the wild by opening the window so that it could fly out of the flat. That may sound ridiculous, but I think it's a small contribution. It's respect for animals that's important to me.

Now I wish you a wonderful week and send you hugs and best wishes, Heidrun
