Thursday Art & Dinner Date ... In the Laboratory

In the Laboratory

Microbiology was a required course in Nursing and what I remember most about it was how stunned I was to discover how beautiful and colorful microorganisms are.

We are experiencing an uptick in Covid in the US ... thankfully the CDC is on it and a new vaccine has been made available.  Have you gone for your flu shot and covid vaccine?  And an RSV vaccine is also being provided for young children and older (over 65) adults.  Hope you are all well and all immunized for what is to come over the winter :)

Good ones for the theme Andrea! They bring me back to my old high school days.

What a wonderful use of Rain's theme. And you are right about the beauty of those micro-organisms.

Dear Andrea, chemistry was absolutely boring at school - we didn't use dangerous objects like Bunsen burners at all... Some microorganisms look really great - they look like candy in your pictures.
Let's hope we all get through the next flu and Covid waves well...
All the best, Traude

I do remember first using a Bunsen burner, Andrea. I am quite sure I thought I was a full-fledged scientist when that august event occurred! As for the microscope, my first experience as best I recall, was looking at plant cells, and I was gobsmacked beyond measure. To see so much that was formerly invisible, to see the patterns and colours, the movement, was like entering a magic kingdom. There is magic and mystery in this wonderful world of ours. Stay well, my friend. Hugs - David

Oh, you nearly blew your head off with that Bunsen Burner!!! I remember those from chemistry class!!! I love your fun artwork Andrea! I don't get vaccinated anymore, but I continue to wear a mask any time I'm near people, which honestly is so rare for me these days. Once a month when I go out shopping, otherwise, I'm home cocooned! ☺☺

Yes, I got both flu and Covid vaccines this past week. In another week I should be good to avoid both illnesses.
