Thursday Art Date With Rain ... Board Games and Game Night

Board Games & Game Night

It has been years since sat at a chess board and honestly, I can't remember how to play it, but it is the first board game that came to mind when I read Rain's prompt.

And this is me dreaming of a friendly game of bridge with my friends ...
I used digital editing and some pictures from public domain to arrive at this.   It was fun albeit a bit challenging.

This is the first day of our new life in America ... I pray that everything keeps moving in a positive direction and we can get our democracy back.  And, not forgotten ... stay safe and be well, the Covid beast is still running rampant.

My favourite board game when I was young was Snakes and Ladders. In high school I get into chess in a fairly serious way, and now my wife and I are Scrabble addicts!

I also like to play the game scrabble, great your photos and the drawing with the chess oh yes I look like that often * laughs *
and you got your friends who play great, yes I can understand the wish to sit together again. . I was also happy for you and when Joe Biden gave his speech I even had a tear. I keep my fingers crossed for you that things are looking up and Trump does not always interfere, he has made enough piles of broken glass and destroyed lives with the virus and so much else.
Take care of yourself, Hugs Elke

This is a great post. Scrabble was a fun game for us. My sister was a crossword maniac so she would always win at scrabble. Have a lovely day.

I suspect that (like riding a bicycle) chess would come back to you.
Despite being a lover of cards Bridge is a game I have never learned.
A big, big hooray for the hope that your country can regain its democracy - and its hope.

Love the scrabble board you created! I just set up Grandpa's chess game to take a photo for TAD and it all came back, how to set up and how to play. Have a great day!

I absolutely LOVE how you opened your post this week, Andrea. I think the scrabble game you created is amazing. There are so many board games and I didn't think of a single one. I love how you wish you could play cards with friends, too. I miss those times. these were fantastic examples of what Rain wanted this week. I KNEW you would come up with something awesome and you didn't disappoint.

Thanks so much Andrea!!! :))) You really made me smile! :) Your girls night out looks like such a nice time, you ladies are looking happy playing bridge! I don't have a clue how to play. Chess...I used to play with my grandfather, but haven't played in years. Great post!!! :) Happy that America will now be healing!!

You are very inventive Andrea. I'm afraid I could not devise a way to make my birds into a board game but maybe there's an idea for someone looking to invent a new board game? And yes there are male Kestrels in Fuerteventura. The kestrels there are the old world Common Kestrel Falco tinninculus rather then the kestrels of North America - Falco sparverius. Two different species. Have a good weekend.

...I hadn't thought about Scribble, but then I can't spell for diddly!

lol, I never learned how to play Bridge. Maybe because I was not that social a person.

I am amazed about how many faces and shapes you see in my art. It is not my aim to create, so, I think it is your mind letting you find them. But I actually found the eys in the grass. :)

But I am glad you like it. :)
Take care!

Andrea,

I played a little chess as a kid but I wasn't good at it. Strategy isn't my strong suit so it was easy to beat me. I don't believe I ever played bridge. I played a lot of Rummy. My uncle taught me how to play and I always looked forward to spending the night with him and his wife for an evening of card playing. What simple times!
