This is a fun, but in some ways sad prompt for me. My husband and I have had antique collections for years, but when we downsized, we sold the majority of our pieces. The good news is that I have pictures of most of them and will share them with you today.
My FH is a Chemical enginee and worked his entire career for two major Oil Companies. It was a natural for him to start to collect Oil Company Memorabilia.
Try decorating your house with oil cans and signs ... not easy, but a challenge that was fun.
The Gas Globes were easy ... they looked awesome no matter where we put them :)
Clocks are always fun. I finally had to stop running them because they would all "dong" at the same time and the noise was deafening ... and if you happened to be talking on the phone when they did their thing, you would miss some possibly important information :)
These were produced by the Barnum & Baily Circus when Jumbo the elephant (the largest elephant in the world at the time) was brought to America from England in 1884.
I had a lot of Elephant powder boxes. These were two of my favorites. I don't have them anymore, but they are still accessible because I gave them to my DIL :)
If you haven't noticed, Elephants are my thing. It all started when my parents gave me a Dumbo at age one. After that my grandparents started bringing me elephants from places they traveled to. Before I knew, I was an elephant collector :)
There is more, but enough is enough. I think I have samples of my favorites here, so that should be good. Hope you are all finding ways to enjoy life ... while staying safe, of course. Be well ...

What a fabulous collection such a wide range thanks for sharing! I love the glassware.
These are beautiful antique things. The porcelain elephant is so beautiful oh and so are the clocks.
Wonderful posting with all the memories from your husband, nicely placed in the apartment.
I was happy to see all the beautiful things.
Have a good time and take care of yourself, hug Elke
Those old gas pump light globes looks great, and are highly collectable. Fine series of photos of these antiques.
Ohhhh these are amazing. The Elephants my daughter would want. She has a very large collection of them. Enjoy your day.
Love your collection - and am very glad that you still have the photos and memories to cherish.
Oh my goodness what gorgeous antiques. I love the oil globes and the depression glass. I'm sorry you had to down size and get rid of these lovely things but hopefully they went to someone who will cherish them and pass them on. Thank you for sharing.

Wow Andrea, those globes are wonderful! Look at those wine glasses!!! I love them! My grandparents had the tinted glass ones too. I really love all of your elephants...wow, what a nice collection. I've never seen a wooden filing cabinet! It's beautiful! What a nice post, I'm sorry it's bitter sweet for you!
Andrea,
I love product memorabilia. It's always fun to see how some folks use those large metal signs and other logos placed on a side of a barn. That's really cool. There's been a few homes over the years we've seen fixed up with a lot of these old antiques. It's really cool! You all sure had a nice collection. That had to be hard to let go of these things. I don't know if I could've done it. Thanks for sharing. Stay well and be healthy, my friend! {hugs}
I am so sorry for being so late visiting. I was SO sick night before last, I didn't even link up for at least two hours. Still not well, but feeling guilty, so wanted to stop by and peruse your antiques. And peruse I have!
I think it's great to collect old oil cans and such. I have a few of those, too, albeit much smaller than the large cans. I LOVED the gas globes, They are fabulous. I've never seen anything like them before. I have also never seen Cambridge Nudes before, either. I guess I wasn't thinking of glasses and breakables, though when I planned my post.
I LOVE that you collect elephants. They are I'm sure, as hard to collect as rocking horses are. I see you have a rocking elephant and it made me smile. If I lived in the UK, rocking horses would be easier to collect, but here they only show up at Christmas. I suspect elephants are even harder because they are circus oriented. One thing about yours, they are true antiques. I love them.
I had to laugh because in the pram I showed, I have a baby doll similar to Madam Alexander. And your Hoosier is the exact same as one of mine on the bottom, but NOT on the top. You found some real gems to share with us, Andrea. You are right, we really DO think alike.
Actually, I was wrong. I went back and looked and your Hoosier is similar to one of mine, but not the same. Is the paint original on yours? For a couple of years, they used wood that they painted, rather than hard oak. I tried to strip mine, but it never turned out very nice.
...Andrea, it was nice to see your collection of Gas Gobes, there a dealer near me who sells reproduction globes. I always wanted to stop and see what they have. Take care and enjoy your week.
