Just a note to let you know that I am not blogging because my computer crashed and it is in the hands of the Geek Squad as we speak ... I am hoping to be back soon, but have at least found a way to come over and comment on other posts by using my husbands computer ... Sorry, miss you all!

NF Trees and Bushes

This is a painting of a flowering tree in the window of my favorite coffee/art shop.  They used both sides of the glass to give it the 3D look.

A little sprucing up just because the lighting and my camera didn't do it justice ... Does anyone see the figure of a bearded man?

NatureFootstep ... Catching Light

There is just something inspirational about light shining through the clouds.  I usually see this while I am on the road and can't stop to take the picture, but this day I spotted it on my lake :)

Wild Bird Wednesday

I have lived here 14 years and have never seen a Great Blue Heron in my yard ... but on this day and several other days, he has been here.  Yes, he is here to hunt something other than fish, which it had never occurred to me he would do.  But take a look ...

Well, I assume the little guy escaped, because the Heron never threw him back in his throat the way they normally do and he went about his business looking for another tasty morsel ...

After awhile, he headed back down the hill to come back another day.  We have an "ample" supply of Chipmunks, so I am thinking this is probably a good thing ... I just don't want to watch it.  Funny, it doesn't bother me when he eats fish :)

Our World Tuesday

I spent the day with a friend on the south side of Chicago and we had some wonderful experiences which I will be sharing with you over the next few weeks.  This first glimpse into the world of Hyde Park  is a wonderful old Catholic School and Church that were built in the 1920's.  The Church is now on the National Registry of Historical Places.

The School ...

You will note a definite Art Deco influence which was popular in this period.  The Church was designed by an associate of Frank Lloyd Wright.  Though Frank Lloyd Wright designs were markedly different, they both embraced a designs that favored the attributes of technology.
