Friday FaceOff
Turkey was everyone's favorite. He was fun, playful and easy to work with. They are social amung themselves and when there are no other Turkey Vultures to socialize with ... they socialize with their handlers.
As and education bird he wowed everyone, especially the kids ...
His favorite game ... Tug of War :)

...I hope that you never have a dull moment!!!
Wow! Andrea I'm so impressed with you working with the birds, especially this one. He/she is so beautiful. What a joy to be able to do this. You are so confident and the bird seems to know that. These are fabulous photos to share with FFO and I thank you so much. Have a very nice weekend.
wow what a bird! fantastic! Have a lovely weekend!
Wow is right ~ amazing what you do working with the birds ~ wonderful photos ~ hugs, ^_^
Great shot!
This is a wonderful and fun post, Andrea. It is interesting seeing you interacting with the turkey vultures. I find these birds endlessly fascinating. We once observed them up close when they were feasting on a run-over squirrel.
Their feasting is Nature's way of cleaning house :)
Majestic birds who provide a valuable service! They were coasting on the high winds here today and enjoying every minute.
This is a great post, Andrea! What an experience you had with a turkey vulture. Happy birthday tomorrow and enjoy seeing Nicole on Sunday. ❤️🌺🎉🎂
I never thought of vultures as being so social, but I guess since you always see them with other vultures it makes sense. It's too bad they get such a bad rap because they really help us by cleaning up. Have a super weekend, and thanks for sharing these photos. I really enjoyed them. hugs-Erika
These are wonderful photos. I've only seen a turkey vulture in the wild and from a bit of distance. They have really striking features. Are you the handler? I'm amazed he is so tame and playful.
Fabulous bird. I particularly like the photo where is looking forward with his mouth open.
Everyone should have a friendly Turkey Vulture in their life! Unlike a dog you don’t even have to take them for a walk! All the best, Andrea - David
It’s wonderful to hear how playful and social he is, and that he engages so well with both people and other birds. Tug of war as a favorite game really shows his fun personality, what a joy to watch and learn from him.
I've never seen a turkey vulture before, but that is one majestic bird. I enjoyed all the photos of you handling him. A truly great FFO.
