Friday Face Off ...

A young branchling Great Horned Owl
Wide eyed and bushy tailed, as they say ... he was adorable, but don't be fooled by his cuteness :)

He was found on the ground under a tree.  We wrapped him in a towel and brought him back to the center.  Our vet examined him and determined what we needed to do so he could heal and we could release him.  He was put under the care of another surrogate Great Horned Owl female who was a permantent resident with us.  We did finally get to release him to the wild.  Sad to see him go, but happy that he recovered and could live his life as he was meant to.

So glad he was able to be rescued! I take it that's YOU offering him the tasty mouse morsel in your artwork!

Isn’t it great that in a world where one nation happily bombs another to smithereens there are people who still care for our fellow creatures on this Earth? Thanks for this heartwarming story, Andrea. Have a great weekend. Hug - David

I'm so glad you could get him to the point where he could be released. Do you think he had fallen out of the nest originally? And even as a young owl look at those talons. I enjoyed this story, and I'm happy he's out doing what he was meant to to do. Have a great weekend. hugs-Erika
