Wild Bird Wednesday

Pelicans Return

What is is about the Pelicans that makes me admire them so ... they are huge and yet graceful, ugly and yet beautiful, powerful and yet gentle.  I love it when they return every year to spend time on our lake before completing their migration to their summer habitat.   I can't pass on a picture even when I already have hundreds :)

Wild Bird Wednesday

Winter Regulars ...

Yes, we are back to winter again ... snow on the ground sub freezing temperatures, but this little gang seems to tolerate it well.  Top to bottom:  Dark Eyed Juncos, Nut Hatch, Gold Finch.  Stay warm everyone ...

Wild Bird Wednesday

Juvenile Coopers Hawk

I haven't seen this little one for awhile, probably because the big adult female rules in this area , but he did stop by recently and spent some time in my tree.  Sweet little boy :)
