Through My Lens

Chiang Saen

We spent a night at Chiang Saen on the Golden Triangle ... a place on the Maekhong River that borders Myanmar, Laos and Thailand.

A Shrine for the King on the road to Chiang Saen ...

Our resort ...

Looking across the Maekhong River at Laos ... the imagration center

From our window we could see the Golden Triangle where the river borders Myanmar, Laos and Thailand.

The city's main street was full of shops and, of course, a message parlor.  Needless to say a food message was in order :)

Shrines along the river ...

There is much more to see in Chiang Saen ... the city has a history that dates back to the 7th Century.  My next visit to Thailand we will be sure to go see the shrines, ruins and museum (another bucket list item :)

What a treasure to be able to experience this land through your photos. I'm in love with the boats, so interesting. But I did have to chuckle a bit as the one with the man on a throne reminded me a bit of the Royal Canadian Mounties.
