Wild Bird Wednesday

We have had open water on our lake for several weeks and finally the eagles appeared.   At first there were two ... a gorgeous adult male and a very large not fully mature female.  I thought they may be a pair, but then in another day there were five eagles ... two adults and three juveniles at different stages of development.
The Adult Male ...

The immature female ... it is hard to tell in these pictures, but she is much bigger than he is, as is usually the case in the raptor world.

Adult pair ... they were in my tree and I didn't see them until they flew ... :(

I'm trying to ignore the fact that some of these pictures (if not all) are of poor quality.  I am quite certain that it is my camera that is not working and not the photographer ... hmmm :)  Maybe I am getting to old for this gig, but I will shot pictures until I drop ... hope you can tolerate my lack of mastery:)

Just a short comment ... there are four eagles sitting in the trees outside as I type this ... probably the fifth is around and I just can't see him.  As for different perspectives ... my neighbor is taking her dog out on a leash so she can grab him and run.  (Buddy is the little boy that was in the picture with Izzi on my NF Catching Light post yesterday. :)  Life is Good!

HI Andrea Now i do not think it is the photographer at fault. These bird flying are very hard to get in focus and you did well to get them at all. I cannot imagine so many Eagles so near your home.

HI Andrea I forgot to tell you that after your name on this post there is a VERY BIG Gap.

Thanks, Margaret. I have no idea what caused it, but I fixed it. Nothing surprises me anymore. :)

I'm envious of your eagles! They're not common here. Beautiful!

I will have to join all the others and be very very jealous!!!!! I would love to see an eagle and take it's photo. The only one I ever saw (and photographed) was in captivity. It is such an awesome bird.

That photo of Izzi and his friend is adorable. I remember romping in the snow like that many moons ago when I was just a kid. Nowadays I don't romp in it anymore. I'd rather romp through the green grass in the warm sunshine. lol.

It is cold here too. It was 10F during the night, and it's not much warmer right now. Let's make a toast for an early Spring. Now I think I should get over to my own blog and make a post. You and Izzi have a super nice day. Hugs, Edna B.

Lovely shots of the eagles, especially the first 4 with their wings spread. I'm trying to imagine putting out a bird feeder for eagles, I suppose it would require some nice juicy rats or something. I hope they can find lots of fish.
