Nature's Footstep Abstract

Cala Lily seed pod ...

Man (Native American) and Nature as one ...

Ecological Alarm ...

I know, this is an art meme, but it is as good a place as any to make a point ... right?

I think an art meme is the perfect place to make a point!! And you have made a great point through your art too. I love all the images...my favourite, maybe, is the first..maybe the second?

I really like the calla lily pod- the details stand out more with your edit. The patterns and movement in Ecological Alarm does express that alarming feeling!

PS I'm glad someone stopped that 'man' in the video!

I thought the seed pod was wonderful, but the rest I don't get. Of course, it's possible my brain has gone to bed without me. haha. I've never really seen the inside of a calla lily seed pod. I wonder, do all those seeds make new plants?

Time is getting so close for you. Did you get all the meal stuff squared away? Don't worry about what does not get done, the boys are big enough to take care of the homefront for you. You have a restful evening, hugs, Edna B.

Love the calla.
And wince in rueful recognition at your point. And cringe with shame too.

Nice abstracts. I guess I missed the video you mentioned.

My husband was telling me about Drake's Equation, which estimates the number of civilizations there may be in the Milky Way and how long each can survive ---although several factors are, of course, unknown.

Eventually this planet will be too hot for life to survive after about a billion years. However, the way things are going, I doubt it will last that long. If some crazy person doesn't start a nuclear war, our land and oceans will not be able to feed us any longer, or there will not be enough water. In those case, we may have wars over water and food. If we think there are crazy wars going on now, I'm glad I will probably not be around for worse ones to come.

Gees, I sound like a horrible pessimist and I'm usually the one optimist in the room.

I know what you are saying ... I was raised on my Mother's "Think positive thoughts! Don't sit around and dream them all day ... act on them". And yet I find myself succumbing to the realization that many people ... I should say most people don't care. It's all about today and let tomorrow (which is the world our children will live in) take care of itself. The "Me" generation and, sadly, even those in my generation don't get it. So, I'm sorry, but that calls for pessimism even in those of us who are optimists. Wish there were more like you around :)

I am in something of a state of shock over it. I really didn't see this coming and suddenly our world is being destroyed and our politicians don't care about anything but getting rich ... which they do by kowtowing to the already rich. This is not the world I grew up in and it makes me angry that we have let so much of the good slip away. I know,EC, that you work hard to make this a better world and you have succeeded in my world Thank you!

We can learn much from the many indigenous people of the world. Indeed politics play a part in the grand scheme of things.Birthrights are the things that are God given. Man-made things should be earned. There is a pride when something is earned. We need to get back to basics, starting with the way each of us lives. If we expect others to do something, we need to do it.
