Wild Bird Wednesday

Wild Bird Wednesday # 56

I will start out by apologizing for the poor quality of these pictures  ... it was a gray and glaring day which made everything too bright for the camera.  But, that said, I will tell the story of the OCD Duckling

As I was working on the landing one morning  the Duck Family that hangs by my feeders came by ... a large group of Mom and Ducklings.  At this age they all look the same ... you can't tell Mom from the babies and you can't tell the boys from the girls.   Like all siblings there was some quarreling and playing, but there was one little one (I'll say he's a boy, just because ...) who was bent on getting himself clean.  I called him the OCD Duckling ...

End ... Round One

End ... Round Two

End ... Round Three

End ... Round Four

End ... Round Five

End ... Round Six

Ahhh ... Done at last

Ehhh ... not quite

One last spot ...

And, oh yea, forgot this one ...

Finally ...  and that is when I left.  Don't know if there was more, but this had to be the cleanest duck on the lake.  OCD is not easy ...

LOL! They're comical to watch when they're bathing! Some seem to take it more seriously than others. Cool shots!

Boy, oh boy, when they bathe, they really bathe, no candles, champagne or strawberries needed.

Thats a nice set of pictures - if you have feathers you may as well keep them in good condition!

Glad you like the word "Yuwaalaraay" - I put it in just for you!! (And if the truth be told I don't really know how it's pronounced!)

Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW

You may bemoan over the quality of these pictures,
but I think this series tells a beautiful story.

That was fun. They are so interesting to watch, and I think quite pretty.
